on the original customer order.
The following language versions are supported
for the period of this promotion:
-English
-French/Canadian
-German
-Japanese
4. Customers eligible for promotion
The 120-day free license program is designed for
customers who are shipped HP 9000 Series 800 systems
on or after the program start date.
HP field personnel and HP installed base customers
WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE to order the 120-day free license
kits (as individual part numbers) directly from HP.
If CA would like to offer this program to HP installed
base customers, CA is solely responsible for the
implementation and administration of such a program.
5. Customer process (for G/H/I/890) systems
a. Customer receives shrinkwrapped 120 day
free license promotional kit with S800 shipment.
b. Customer must FAX to CA a completed application
(FAX number is on the promotional flyer)
c. CA will issue the customer a key to use CA-
UNICENTER for 120 day trial promotion.
At this time, CA will provide the customer
with a CA-UNICENTER documentation set. CA
will work with the customer to understand
their requirements for this trial, and likely
recommend that the customers to purchase a CA-
Startup Pak to get the customer up-to-speed on CA-
Unicenter.
HP's PSD is working with CA to determine
how to recommend that the customer contact
the HP PSO for initial product start-up training
and consulting. The PSD services are still
in the process of being defined, and will not
be available in the initial stages of this
program. PSD will be phasing in services over
time.
d. At the end of 120 days, the CA-Unicenter trial
license will expire. The customer must contact CA
if they wish to continue to use the CA-UNICENTER
software after this time. The customer must
obtain a license from CA to use the software.
6. X-terminal co-promotion
Because the CA-UNICENTER Motif interface adds much
value to the CA-UNICENTER product, most customers
would want to try the software with some sort of
X-display. Customers would be able to use any
supported X-terminal, or workstation, as the front
end GUI display for Unicenter.
For those customes without any kind of X-display
device, HP (Panacom) offers a promotion
program for an HP X-terminal. This program will
allow a customer to purchase an X-terminal at a
significant discount. The Promotion is entitled
"Open for X Business Promotion".
